Do we need it?

Hello all,

Given that we have Magna Carta and it's successors, and the 1689 Bill of Rights, and all the Common Law that has arisen from these - surely that should be enough.

What we need now is for the Queen to remember her Coronation Vows, return to them as head of the British People and reclaim much of the Royal Prerogative which has been let slip to the Prime Minister.

Until then, all this talk of written constitutions is pointless because our puppet government wouldn't want it, despite what Mr Brown says to get votes.

"A constitution is the property of a nation, and not of those who exercise government".

Tom Paine discusses "Constitutions" in the Rights of Man.

The first part is found in the 1791 publication, page 122, Paine writes:

UK Constitution Supremacy

According to the "UK COMPANIES ACTS 1985 AND 1989" company limited by share memorandum of association of "SAMUEL & ASSOCIATES LIMITED":
Clause(2).The Company's registered office is to be situated in England and Wales.

Towards the discharge of all the company objectives by the board of directors as specified in Clause(3R): To do all or any of the above things in (any part of the world), and either as principals, agents, trustees, contractors or otherwise, and either alone or in conjunction with others, and either by or through agents, trustees, sub-contractors or otherwise.

The beginning...

I have long been facinated by the absence of a written constitution for the UK, and had an interest in writing it.

On Friday, Gordon Brown announced his candidacy for the leadership of the Labour party, and therefore to take over as Prime Minister from Tony Blair on the 27th June 2007.

In his speech he said:
